JR代々木駅と小田急線南新宿駅の間にあった活気ある千代通り商店街。昭和の時代、どこにでもあった私鉄沿線の駅前商店街ですが、いつのまにか無くなってしまいました。ほとんどの商店は消えており、マンションやコインパーキングとなっていて寂しいです。正面のレンガ色の巨大マンションは知る人ぞ知る、昭和の香りたっぷりの「ニューステイトメナー」（1976竣工）です。当初ホテルとして建設されたものの、建設会社が途中で倒産。結局は分譲ワンルームマンション（14階建892室）で売り出されました。バブル期には22平米で1億円したとか！？その先に新宿西口の高層ビルも見えます。
Chiyo-dori Shopping Street 1984⇔2021
The lively Yoyogi shopping street used to be located between JR Yoyogi Station and Minami Shinjuku Station on the Odakyu Line. In the Showa period (1926-1989), this shopping street was everywhere in front of stations along private railway lines, but it has somehow disappeared. Most of the stores have disappeared and have been replaced by condominiums and coin-operated parking lots, which is sad to see. The huge brick-colored apartment building in front of the building is the New State Menor (completed in 1976), which is well known to those who know it and has a rich Showa-era flavor. It was originally built as a hotel, but the construction company went bankrupt in the middle of the project. In the end, it was sold as a studio apartment (14 floors, 892 rooms). During the bubble period, a 22-square meter apartment cost 100 million yen! You can also see a high-rise building at Shinjuku West Exit beyond.
