吉祥寺パルコは1980（昭和55）年9月開店。平和通りの商店街はまだ二階建が多く、吉祥寺駅に停車中の中央線が見える。
住みたい街ランキングで人気の吉祥寺、その魅力は回遊を生み出す都心部の空間構造。昭和40年代から、武蔵野市長であった後藤喜八郎の下で構想された「回遊性の高い街づくり」というコンセプトは、現在の吉祥寺の魅力の礎を行政の側から築いた。
Kichijoji Parco Mae 1981⇔2023
Kichijoji Parco opened in September 1980 (Showa 55). The shopping street on Heiwa-dori still has many two-story buildings, and the Chuo Line can be seen stopping at Kichijoji Station.
Kichijoji is a popular place to live, and its attraction is the spatial structure of the city center that creates circulation. The concept of “creating a town with a high level of circulation,” which was conceived in the 1960s under Kihachiro Goto, then mayor of Musashino, laid the foundation for Kichijoji’s current appeal from the administrative side.
