24節気のひとつ「清明（せいめい）」とは清らかな春先の様子を表す「清浄明潔（しょうじょうめいけつ）」の略語です。江戸時代の暦（こよみ）便覧には、「万物発して清浄明潔なれば、この芽は何の草としれるなり」とあります。
草や木、水などが清く明らかであり東南風の心地よい季節、全てのものが清々しく明るく美しい頃ですね。さまざまな種類の花を植えている公園や桜並木などに、身近な絶景が溢れています。
