下高井戸シネマ 1980⇔2023
昭和30年代前半に木造平屋建てでオープンした当初は“京王下高井戸東映”という東映の封切館だったが1980（昭和55）年に名画座へ転向、館名も『下高井戸京王』となった、一時は経営母体の撤退で閉館の危機を迎えるが、「下高井戸に映画の灯を消してはいけない」との思いで、現在は下高井戸商店街の人たちがその経営を支えている。会員制度で特典いっぱい、地元の人たちから愛される映画館として存在感を放っている。

Opened in the early 1950s as a one-story wooden building, it was originally a Toei movie theater called “Keio Shimotakaido Toei,” but in 1980 it was converted to a movie theater, and its name was changed to “Keio Shimotakaido.
