Ikegami Line Gotanda Station 1984⇔2023
Gotanda Station on the Ikegami Line is built on an elevated bridge over the Yamanote Line, and station facilities such as ticket gates and JR transfer gates are located at the end of the platform. The station was built to straddle the Yamanote Line because Ikegami Electric Railway had plans to extend the station toward Shirokane on the inside of the Yamanote Line. However, after the twists and turns of the postwar period, the Ikegami Line no longer had a plan to connect directly to the subway, so only this station structure remains. As a result, transfer to the Yamanote Line is very convenient. The operation of the first 3000 Series, including “Deha 3509” in the photo, was terminated on March 9, 1989, and from the following day, the entire fleet was operated by all stainless steel cars, 7200 Series and 7600 Series.
池上線 五反田駅1984⇔2023
池上線の五反田駅は山手線を跨ぐ高高架橋の上に設けられており、ホームの終端側に改札やJR乗り換え改札などの駅設備が置かれています。山手線を跨ぐようにして建設したのは池上電鉄に山手線内側の白金方面への延伸計画があったからです。しかし、戦後の紆余曲折を経て池上線の地下鉄直通計画もなくなったため、この駅構造だけが残されています。結果として山手線への乗り換えは大変便利です。写真の「デハ3509」含む初代3000系の運用は1989年3月9日に終了され、翌日からは全車両がオールステンレスカー7200系・7600系での運転となりました。
