上野公園の、東京文化会館の前にある、大きな胸像。初代東京都知事である安井誠一郎の像です。昭和22年（1947)から昭和34年（1959)まで12年間東京都知事として、戦災で廃墟となった首都東京を復興させた。東京文化会館の建設が最後の遺業とのことで、この場所に胸像が建てられた。
Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Ueno 1986⇔2023
A large bust in front of the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan in Ueno Park. It is a statue of Seiichiro Yasui, the first Governor of Tokyo. As governor of Tokyo for 12 years from 1947 to 1959, he restored the capital city, which had been in ruins due to the war. The construction of the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan was his last posthumous achievement, and it seems that the bust was erected at this location.
