六本木の外苑東通り「六本木５丁目バス停」前に2階建の木造家屋が5軒並んでいる。左から、文房具屋「英文堂」、青果店、古美術、骨董屋「大信商会」「西田古美術」である。六本木は当時も今も、外国人が多く暮らしている街で、古くからの古美術品や和物を扱う店が多い。「大信商会」は2020年コロナ前までは営業していましたが、今は閉店の模様。この４店舗は最後まで土地を売らずに、背後に建つ「三井ガーデンホテル六本木プレミア」が2020年1月に開業しました。

From left to right are the stationery shop “Eibundo,” a fruit and vegetable store, an antique shop, “Daishin Shokai” and “Nishida Antique Art. Roppongi was then, and still is, a town where many foreigners live, and many stores sell antiques and Japanese goods from long ago. Daishin Shokai” was in business until before Corona 2020, but now appears to be closed. These four stores did not sell their land until the end, and “Mitsui Garden Hotel Roppongi Premier” built behind them opened in January 2020.

六本木 外苑東通り1984⇔2023
夜の街として知られ、1960年代頃から六本木は都内最大級の繁華街、さらに国際的なオフィスの並ぶビル群を構えることで広く知られるようになった。六本木交差点近辺から外苑東通り東京タワーが見える飯倉方面を望む。2023年、森ビルが手がける「麻布台ヒルズ」がそびえ立っている。

Roppongi Gaien Higashi Dori 1984⇔2023
Known as a nightlife district, Roppongi became widely known around the 1960s as one of the largest downtown areas in Tokyo, as well as for its buildings lined with international offices. A view from near the Roppongi intersection toward Iikura, where Tokyo Tower can be seen on Gaien-Higashi Dori; in 2023, “Azabudai Hills” by Mori Building will rise above the area.
