1984年、ターミナルのすぐ脇に、
人の流れと、生活の匂いが残っていました。
高層ビルの足元に、
酒屋、階段、立ち話。
街はまだ、地続きだった。
すでにカラーフィルムはありましたが、
私はモノクロで、この風景を残しています。
写したかったのは色ではなく、
この場所に流れていた時間の密度。
この写真を、
写真に含まれる時間の情報を
より近い距離で読み取るためのサイズとして、
A3プリントに仕上げています。
In 1984, beside the terminal,
the flow of people and the scent of everyday life still remained.
At the base of the high-rise buildings,
a liquor store, a staircase, people standing and talking.
The city was still physically connected.
Although color film already existed,
I chose to preserve this scene in black and white.
What I wanted to capture was not color,
but the density of time that flowed through this place.
This photograph has been produced as an A3 print,
a size that allows the temporal information contained in the image
to be read at a closer distance.

Tokyo Time Slip は、
1984年から現在に至るまで、
同じ場所、同じ視点から東京の街を撮り続ける写真プロジェクトです。
急速に変化する都市の中で、
建物や風景そのものではなく、
そこに流れていた時間の層、
人の営みが刻んだ痕跡を記録することを目的としています。
写真集では過去と現在を対比しながら街の変遷を可視化し、
プリント作品では、1984年の写真を単体で成立させ、
ひとつの時代を確定した記録として提示しています。
Tokyo Time Slip は、
失われていく風景への郷愁ではなく、
都市と時間の関係を静かに見つめ直すための試みです。
Tokyo Time Slip is a long-term photographic project
that
documents Tokyo from the same locations and viewpoints
from 1984 to the present day.
Rather than recording buildings or cityscapes themselves,
the project focuses on the layers of time embedded in the city—
traces of everyday life shaped by constant transformation.
While the photobooks present past and present images side by side,
the photographic prints isolate the images from 1984,
establishing them as complete works that fix a specific moment in time.
Tokyo Time Slip is not an exercise in nostalgia,
but an attempt to quietly reconsider the relationship
between the city and the passage of time.
