御茶ノ水駅は、東西を聖橋とお茶の水橋に、南北を神田川と急な擁壁に挟まれた、独特で窮屈な地形の上にある。
そのため、昔から大規模な改良工事は思うように進められず、駅は長いあいだ“変わらない風景”を守り続けてきた。
いま、聖橋口では新しい駅舎の建設が進み、構内も少しずつ姿を変えつつある。
けれど、お茶の水橋口だけは時代の流れからそっと取り残されたように、
大きな変化もなく、改札前には今では珍しくなった石畳がひっそりと残っている。
そして2026年。
その石畳も、もうわずかしか残っていない。
改札を出た瞬間、足の裏にかすかに伝わるあの感触が、ふと胸の奥をくすぐる。
あの頃の御茶ノ水を思い出させる、懐かしい記憶の手触りだ。
Ochanomizu Station — Ochanomizubashi Exit 1984⇔2023⇔2026
Ochanomizu Station sits in a narrow cradle of geography,
pressed between Hijiri Bridge and Ochanomizu Bridge from east to west,
and hemmed in by the Kanda River and steep retaining walls from north to south.
Because of this tight landscape, large‑scale renovations were always difficult,
and the station held on to its familiar scenery for decades.Today,
construction of the new Hijiribashi entrance is well underway,
and the station interior is slowly taking on a new shape.
Yet the Ochanomizubashi side seems to linger in an older time, untouched by the rush of change.
The cobblestone paving in front of the ticket gates—now a rare sight in the city—has quietly remained.
By 2026, even those cobblestones are nearly gone.Stepping out through the gate,
the faint, uneven touch beneath my feet stirs something deep inside.
