江戸時代の江戸城拡張の際に半蔵門と田安門の土橋で塞き止めて造られた水濠が千鳥ヶ淵です。水濠沿いに千鳥ヶ淵緑道が整備され、都内屈指の桜の名所として有名です。開花期にはライトアップが実施されるほか、お濠のボートも営業します。冬期12月～3月は休業です。
Chidorigafuchi boatyard 1984⇔2023
Chidorigafuchi is a water moat created by blocking the Hanzomon Gate and the Tayasumon Gate with an earthen bridge during the expansion of Edo Castle in the Edo period. Chidorigafuchi Ryokudo (greenway) has been developed along the water moat and is famous as one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Tokyo. During the blooming season, the moat is illuminated and boats are open. It is closed during the winter season from December to March.
千鳥ヶ淵緑道の桜 1984⇔2023
都内でも有数の桜の名所。靖国通りから北の丸公園に沿って整備された700メートルにも及ぶ遊歩道で、通りにはソメイヨシノをはじめとする約260本もの桜の木が植えられている。例年、3月下旬から4月上旬にかけて鮮やかに咲き誇る桜を望むことができる。

One of the most famous cherry blossom viewing spots in Tokyo. The promenade stretches 700 meters from Yasukuni Street to Kitanomaru Park, and is lined with some 260 cherry trees, including Someiyoshino cherry trees. The pathway is planted with some 260 cherry trees, including Someiyoshino, and the cherry blossoms are usually in full bloom from late March to early April.
