新宿駅には、1984（昭和59）年まで写真中央のプレハブがあるあたりに新宿貨物駅があった。
プレハブが並ぶ昭和の風景は、再開発を経て「タカシマヤタイムズスクエア」（1996年）、「バスタ新宿」（2016年）へと変貌。
📡 そして1997年、旧貨物駅跡にNTTドコモの通信拠点「Sky Tower」が着工。2000年竣工、高さ都内7位。
曇り空でも目立つその姿は「新宿のエンパイアステートビル」と呼ばれるように。

Until 1984 (Showa 59), Shinjuku Station had a freight station located near the prefab buildings seen in the center of the photo.
The Showa-era landscape of prefab buildings transformed through redevelopment into “Takashimaya Times Square” (1996) and then “Busta Shinjuku” (2016).
📡 Then in 1997, construction began on NTT Docomo’s communication hub “Sky Tower” on the former freight station site.Completed in 2000, it stands as Tokyo’s 7th tallest building. Its prominent silhouette, visible even on cloudy days, earned it the nickname “Shinjuku’s Empire State Building.”
