1981年、南口からの眺めは空が広々！歩行者は今より少なく、歩道も狭い。その脇には放置された自転車やバイクが並んでいました。
2025年の現在は、歩道が大きく拡張され、歩行者優先へと変化。タクシー乗り場も「バスタ新宿」へ移動し、車道はむしろ細くなっています。
「バスタ新宿」登場前の昭和の都市の息づかいが、確かに残っていました。
Shinjuku Station South Exit / Kōshū Kaidō 1981⇔2025
In 1981, the view from the South Exit felt wide and open, with far fewer pedestrians and much narrower sidewalks. Abandoned bicycles and motorbikes lined the roadside.
By 2025, the sidewalks had been greatly expanded and redesigned for pedestrians. The taxi stands moved to “Busta Shinjuku,” and the roadway itself became narrower.
Before the arrival of Busta Shinjuku, you could still feel the raw pulse of a Showa-era city.
