毎週日曜日の原宿・代々木公園横道路ホコ天（歩行者天国）で、大きなラジカセを囲み、路上で踊っていたローラー族や竹の子族とそれを見守る観衆が「原宿ホコ天」に集まり、原宿歩行者天国は毎週繰り広がる祭りのようであった。1996（平成8）年1月をもって原宿のホコ天は廃止され、1977（昭和52）年から続いた若者たちによる代々木公園ホコ天文化は消滅しました。

Every Sunday in Harajuku, the Roller Tribe and Takenoko Tribe gathered around a large boom box and danced on the street, while spectators watched them.As of January 1996 (Heisei 8), Harajuku hokoten was discontinued, and the hokoten-ization of Yoyogi Park by young people that had continued since 1977 (Showa 52) disappeared.
