テレビの街頭インタビューの定番地、サラリーマンの聖地と言われている新橋駅SL広場です。昭和末期には多くの駅前に使われていない噴水がありました。噴水の中央にあるオブジェはいま近くの「桜田公園」に移設されています。ほぼ駅の造り替えに相当するぐらいの新橋駅改良工事が行われましたが、歴史的構造物である明治生まれの「レンガアーチ高架橋」は保存されました。2025年4月、リクルート銀座8丁目ビルは取り壊された。このビルは1981年に完成し、2008年にグラントウキョウサウスタワー（八重洲）へ移転するまで、リクルートの中枢拠点としての役割を果たしてきた。2021年、不動産大手ヒューリックに売却され、その後解体された。
Shimbashi Station, Hibiya Exit, SL Plaza 1984⇔2025
This is the SL Plaza of Shimbashi Station, a regular site for TV street interviews and a sacred place for businessmen. In the late Showa period, there were unused fountains in front of many stations. The object in the center of the fountain has now been relocated to nearby Sakurada Park.The Shimbashi station was improved to the extent that it was almost equivalent to rebuilding the station, but the historical structure, the “brick arch viaduct” born in the Meiji era, was preserved.In April 2025, the Recruit Ginza 8-chome Building was demolished. In 2021, the building was sold to real estate giant Hulic, which subsequently demolished it.
