新宿駅西口換気口 1984⇔2022⇔2024
未来をつくろうとしていた時代の風景は、いま見ると、過去に残された未来に見える。
2022年10月2日。
小田急百貨店新宿店本館、営業最終日。
最後に灯されたラストイルミネーション。
あの日、
終わるものと、残るものが
確かに同じ場所にあった。
2024年。
本館上部の解体が進み、
東口・歌舞伎町の新宿東宝ビルまで
視界がひらける。
跡地には、
地上48階・高さ約260mの超高層ビル。
竣工は2029年度予定。
そして――
西口換気口は、
次の時代にも残るのだろうか。
街は変わる。
記憶だけが、写真の中に残る。

October 2, 2022.
The last night of the Odakyu Department Store Shinjuku Main Building main building.
Its final lights glowed quietly.
That night,
what was ending
and what would remain
stood side by side.
As demolition rose higher,
the view opened —
all the way to the Shinjuku Toho Building on the east side.
Soon, a new tower will stand here.
48 floors.
About 260 meters into the sky.
And still —
Will this ventilation tower
survive the next era?
The city changes.
Only memories remain in photographs.
