東急プラザの看板、キャビン85、ハウスとんがりコーンの広告、住友銀行や三菱銀行、そして頭上を走り引き込み線へ向かう銀座線――すべてが時代の記憶です。
そして2026年、渋谷は再開発の真っただ中。旧駅舎や東横店南館の跡地には「渋谷スクランブルスクエア 西棟」が建設中で、歩行者デッキの整備により街の動線も大きく変わろうとしています。
変わり続ける渋谷。その原点が、ここにあります。

Shibuya in 1982—a cityscape etched in memory. The Tokyu Plaza sign, Cabin 85, the House Tongari Corn billboard, Sumitomo and Mitsubishi banks, and the Ginza Line gliding overhead toward the siding all evoke a bygone era. Fast forward to 2026, and Shibuya is in the midst of a once-in-a-century redevelopment. The former station building and the site of the old Tokyu Toyoko Department Store South Wing are now giving rise to the Shibuya Scramble Square West Building. A newly constructed pedestrian deck is reshaping the city’s flow. Shibuya is a city in constant transformation—and here lies one of its origins.
