井の頭線下北沢高架橋、周囲は盛り土で固められていた。2022年3月30日に井の頭線高架橋化工事によって盛り土は削られ、利用可能となった高架下空間「ミカン下北」が誕生した。下北沢駅周辺の再開発プロジェクトの一環として設立され、「未完成」をテーマに、下北沢の自由で雑多な空気を体現し、多様な人々がジャンルを超えて交流する場を目指しています。延べ床面積約5300平方メートルで、飲食店、古着店、雑貨店など約23店舗が入居しています。また、コワーキングスペース「SYCL by KEIO」やシェアラウンジ付きの「TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE」も併設されています。
Mikan Shimokita” under the elevated Shimokitazawa station on the Inokashira Line 1984⇔2025
Inokashira Line Shimokitazawa viaduct, the surrounding area was hardened with fill; on March 30, 2022, the fill was removed by the Inokashira Line viaduct conversion work, creating the “Mikan Shimokita” space under the viaduct that became available for use. Established as part of a redevelopment project around Shimokitazawa Station, it was intended to embody the free and motley atmosphere of Shimokitazawa under the theme of “unfinished” and to be a place where a diverse range of people could interact across genres. With a total floor space of approximately 5,300 square meters, the building houses approximately 23 stores, including restaurants, vintage clothing stores, and general merchandise stores. It also includes the co-working space “SYCL by KEIO” and the “TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE” with a shared lounge.
