京王線下高井戸駅の踏切を渡るとさまざまな商店が並ぶ下高井戸駅前市場があります。1956年に建てられた建物が残り、昭和レトロな雰囲気が漂い、下高井戸商店街の象徴ともいえます。2023年、京王線では笹塚～仙川間の約7.2kmで、高架化の事業中です。途中の下高井戸駅周辺でも、工事用地や側道の整備などで、この「下高井戸駅前市場」含めて駅前地区が再開発されるようです。

Crossing the railroad crossing at Shimotakaido Station on the Keio Line, you will find Shimotakaido Ekimae Ichiba (Shimotakaido Station Market) with a variety of stores. 1956 buildings remain, giving the area a retro Showa-style atmosphere and making it a symbol of the Shimotakaido shopping district.In 2023, the Keio Line is in the process of elevating approximately 7.2 km between Sasazuka and Sengawa. The area in front of Shimotakaido Station, including the “Shimotakaido Ekimae Market,” is expected to be redeveloped with the construction sites and side roads in the Shimotakaido Station area along the way.
