パークロード（市道第2号線）は平日・休日問わず多くの人出でにぎわい、駅前で路線バスの降車を行っていることから、バスと歩行者の通行が交差し、安全性、快適性が著しく低下しています。そのため、武蔵野市では、南口駅前広場を整備し路線バスの通行を井ノ頭通りに変更したい計画があります。地権者、関係権利者の生活再建等の問題もあることから、なかなか進展していないのが現状です。しかし、その雑然な雰囲気が街の魅力となり、多くの若者をひきつけているのかもしれません。

Park Road(City Road No. 2) are crowded with people both on weekdays and holidays, and buses and pedestrians cross paths as they drop off and pick up buses in front of the station, significantly reducing safety and comfort. Therefore, Musashino City has a plan to develop the south exit station square and change the route bus traffic to Inokashira-dori Avenue. Due to issues such as rebuilding the lives of landowners and related right-of-way holders, progress has been slow.However, this chaotic atmosphere may be what makes the city attractive and attracts many young people.

吉祥寺駅公園口「ブックスいずみ」1984⇔2023
吉祥寺駅の公園口を出てすぐ、バス通り（パーク通り）沿いの路面店「ブックスいずみ」。昭和の時代、どこにでもあった駅前本屋が無くなるのは寂しいですね。当時でも書店店頭に雑誌の自動販売機が置かれているのは珍しい。 現座はエクセルシオールカフェです。店舗前の彫刻はまだあった！
Kichijoji Station Park Exit “Books Izumi 1984⇔2023
Books Izumi” is a street-front store along the bus street (Park Dori) just outside the Park Exit of Kichijoji Station. It is sad to see the station-front bookstore, which was everywhere in the Showa period, disappear. Even back then, it was rare to find a magazine vending machine in a bookstore.The current location is the Excelsior Cafe.The sculpture in front of the store was still there！
