新宿西口の線路沿いにノスタルジックな情景が残る飲屋街「思い出横丁」がある。戦後直後に焼け野原にできた露天商のマーケットが始まりです。現在は約60店舗の飲食店がひしめくグルメスポット。そんな「思い出横丁」にあって高い人気を博す町中華が「岐阜屋」。オープンしたのは戦後間もない1947年。朝９時から深夜２時まで、夜勤明けに朝からお酒を楽しむお客から深夜の酔客まで、老若男女の憩いの場です。
Shinjyuku Omoide Yokocho “Gifu-ya” 1984⇔ 2023
Along the railroad tracks at the west exit of Shinjuku is a nostalgic scene of a drinking district called “Omoide Yokocho. It began as an open-air market for street vendors that was established in a burnt-out area just after the war. Today, it is a gourmet spot with about 60 restaurants. Gifu-ya” is one of the most popular restaurants in “Omoide Yokocho. It opened in 1947, shortly after the end of World War II. From 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., it is a place for men and women of all ages to relax, from customers enjoying drinks in the morning after a night shift to drunken customers late at night.
