Ginza Yanagidori “Sato-chan” 1984⇔2023
Mascot character in the shape of an elephant for Sato Seiyaku. In April 1959, a baby elephant (chibi-zo) was born for in-store display to commemorate the wedding of Crown Prince Akihito to Sato Pharmaceutical. In October of the same year, the elephant was named “Sato-chan” from a public contest.
佐藤製薬のゾウを模したマスコットキャラクター。佐藤製薬が「象は健康と長生きのシンボル」であるととらえ、キャラクターをゾウに決定した。1959年4月、皇太子・明仁親王の御成婚を記念して、店頭ディスプレイ用の子象（チビゾウ）が誕生。同年10月、公募により「サトちゃん」と命名された。
