戦後闇市の残り香がまだ漂っていた頃。駅前には不法占用の店がひしめき、雑多でどこか危うい空気が満ちていた。
その一角、駅に最も近い場所にあったのが個室ヌード店「ボニータ」。
背後には、なぜか昭和天皇即位記念碑。 記念碑とアンダーグラウンドな娯楽が背中合わせに並ぶ、倒錯の風景。
そして今。かつての「ボニータ」の跡地にはエレベーターが立つ。
その箱に乗り込むと、扉の向こうにあの喧騒と猥雑がふと立ち現れるような── そんな錯覚すら覚える。
Shinjuku Station Southeast Exit “Bonita” 1984⇔2025
Back when the lingering scent of the postwar black market still hung in the air. Illegally occupied shops crowded the station front, filled with a chaotic, somehow precarious atmosphere. In one corner, closest to the station, stood the private nude booth shop “Bonita”.
Behind it, for some reason, stood the Showa Emperor Accession Monument.
A perverse landscape where the monument and underground entertainment stood back-to-back.And now. An elevator stands on the former site of “Bonita.”
Stepping into that box, you might even feel the illusion that beyond the doors, that very clamor and sleaze suddenly materializes.
