新橋駅SL広場は、テレビの街頭インタビューの定番地であり、「サラリーマンの聖地」として親しまれています。昭和末期には、多くの駅前に使われていない噴水が存在していましたが、その中央のオブジェは現在、近くの「桜田公園」に移設されています。駅の大規模な改良工事が行われた際にも、明治時代に造られた歴史的構造物「レンガアーチ高架橋」は保存され、歴史の息吹を今に伝えています。2025年4月、リクルート銀座8丁目ビルが取り壊されました。このビルは1981年に完成し、2008年にリクルートがグラントウキョウサウスタワー（八重洲）へ移転するまで、同社の中枢拠点として機能していました。2021年には不動産大手ヒューリックに売却され、その後解体されました。写真で同位置に見えるのは隣接地に位置する「ホテル ザ セレステイン銀座」です。
Shimbashi Station, Hibiya Exit, Fountain 1984⇔2025
Shimbashi Station SL Plaza is a regular site for TV street interviews and is known as a “mecca for businessmen. In the late Showa period, unused fountains existed in front of many stations, the central object of which has now been relocated to “Sakurada Park”. In April 2025, the Recruit Ginza 8-chome Building was demolished. In 2021, the building was sold to real estate giant Hulic, which subsequently demolished it. The building seen in the same location in the photo is the Hotel The Celestine Ginza, which is located on the adjoining site.
