国立代々木競技場1984⇔2024
1964（昭和39）年の東京オリンピックの開催に備えて建設された国立代々木競技場（通称「代々木第一体育館」）の原宿駅側の広場です。建物周りの地面の表面は直前に廃止された都電の敷石を流用して造られた。左側のビルは「キリン原宿旧本社ビル」です。1976年にキリンビールが購入・改装して本社とした建物で、元は高級マンションとして設計され、日本庭園を持つ広々とした敷地に建てられていました。1995年に一度本社機能が移転しましたが、2009年に再び戻り、2010年にはキリンビバレッジ社も移転しました。しかし、手狭になったため2013年に中野セントラルパークサウスに本社機能を移転し、ビルは2015年に「原宿リハビリテーション病院」として再利用されています。1984年当時は「東邦生命ビル」（現渋谷クロスタワー）のみだった、渋谷駅方面の高層ビルも増えましたね。
Yoyogi National Stadium 1984⇔2024
This is the plaza on the Harajuku Station side of the Yoyogi National Stadium (commonly known as “Yoyogi First Gymnasium”), which was constructed in preparation for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. The ground surface around the buildings was constructed by diverting paving stones from the Tokyo Metropolitan Electric Railway, which was discontinued immediately before the Games.The building on the left is the “Kirin Harajuku Former Head Office Building,” purchased and renovated by Kirin Brewery in 1976 as its headquarters, originally designed as a luxury apartment building and built on a spacious site with a Japanese garden. In 2010, Kirin Beverage Company also relocated to the building. However, the head office functions were relocated to Nakano Central Park South in 2013 due to the space becoming too cramped, and the building was repurposed as the Harajuku Rehabilitation Hospital in 2015.The number of high-rise buildings in the direction of Shibuya Station, which was only the Toho Seimei Building (now the Shibuya Cross Tower) in 1984, has also increased.
