1948年に開館した「渋谷パレス座」は、「映画の街」でもあった渋谷の歴史を見続けてきた映画館でもあった。バブル景気と共に渋谷が新しい文化の発信地として変貌し始めた頃1990年6月に休館した。同地に新たに建設された渋谷三葉ビルの７階に、1992年3月「渋谷シネパレス」としてリオープンしたが、2018年5月に閉館した。「シブヤ西武ロフト館」は1987（昭和62）年11月にオープンしました。

手前に写る車は1981年発表の二代目「セリカXX」（ダブルエックス）
アメリカではXを重複すると映画の成人指定度合いを示すことから、車名をラテン語で「至上かつ最高」を意味するスープラとした。これがスープラの始まりであり、「セリカXX」が短命で終わった理由でもあるらしい。
1983年に法規で認められるまで、日本車はドアミラーの装備が認められず、すべてがフェンダーミラーであった。写真は1984年撮影であるが、車は1983年規制解除前の車両と思われる。
